Quantum of Solace

sol·ace (noun) – a consoling in time of grief or pain: comfort, consolation

Quantum of Solace is the title of the 22nd James Bond film, set to be released worldwide on November 7, 2008. In fact, it is the title of one of five Bond’s short stories written by Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond franchise, in the short story collection entitled “For Your Eyes Only” (of which the plot has been used for the film with the same title since 1981.

This short story is unique as it has no action involved. It showed the complicated life of people who seem to be happy using James Bond as an observer. It is yet to be seen how the story line in the film would develop which might or might not have anything to do with the original story in the book. The movie production teams revealed that this film would continue from Casino Royale in which Bond has been heart-broken because of the loss of his love and he would seek a revenge, thus the audiences would definitely see a lot of actions. It is possible that the quantum of solace would also mean something else in the film, not limited to the emotional stage of 007.

Well, all we could do now is to wait and see.
