Vacancy

Vacancy

Vacancy is a thriller film starring Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale as a married couple whose car broke down in the middle of nowhere. The situation led them to spend a night in an isolated motel nearby. Soon after checking in, they noticed that there were video surveillance in their room and they were about to be the next victims of a murder which would be filmed in the same way as the previous unfortunate occupants of the room in this creepy motel. It turns out that the hotel manager was a mastermind of this killing scheme.

The tune of the film is well composed with eerie atmosphere. The film doesn’t waste no time to get to the point and once the killing has started, it’s frighten and exciting. The movie stays true to its genre as a horror film with no strings attached. However, as suffered by most of the film in this genre, the plot is so weak and unreasonable that you doubt the possibility of the situation. The script went downhill with all those lame and stupid run-for-your-life scenarios. Well, if you could put up with bad story and stupid ending, this is a horror film for you. All in all, I found it too much to bear for me.

2 Stars out of 5 – This is another tasteless thriller with bad story. There are some scary moments but those scenes couldn’t make up for insensible action in the film.
