The film is the third installment of Ocean’s franchise directed by Stephen Soderbergh. The first film of the series, Ocean’s Eleven, was a remake of the original 1960 film about a team of stylish thefts. In Ocean’s Thirteen, our familiar Ocean’s team is united once again to revenge for one of their friends that was betrayed by a hotel tycoon in Las Vegas. They plans to destroy the new hotel’s opening night with all their cunning skills.
The movie is smart and funny with clever plot and stylish storyline. It’s like an old school reunion when the cast from both Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve, the series prequels, appears once again in this film. The ensemble of the cast, including Hollywood familiar faces like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Al Pacino just to name a few, delivers the finest performance. However, if you are not familiar with the Ocean’s team, you might get lose half-way through the movie because of its fast pace storyline which results in complicating scene cutting.
All in all, the film is enjoyable whether or not you watched the previous films. The performance of star-studded cast is worth watching.
4 Stars out of 5 – recommend to film lovers who enjoy a clever plot. Revenge is sweet, after all.
