Hairspray is the film adaptation of the award winning Broadway musical show with the same name, which adapted from the original movie in 1998 1988 (Sorry, I typed it wrong.) Thus, we could say that the film is a reincarnation of the comedy movie originally released 9 years ago. The film tells a story of an overweight but pleasant teenager girl named Tracy Turnblad who dreams to be a dancer in local TV show in Baltimore in 1962. Not only being a musical comedy, the film also shows an optimistic point of view regarding the racial integration in the U.S. at that time.
