Arthur and the Minimoys

Arthur and the Minimoys is a part-live action and part-3D animation film adaptation of the children book with the same name. The book, released in 2002, is surprisingly written by Luc Basson, the renowned French filmmaker whose previous works includes The Fifth Element and Nikita. He also directed this movie himself, thus the film is perfectly interpreted. Set in 1960, the movie tells a story of a ten-year-old boy Arthur who lives with his Grandmother. Their house is at the verge of being taken over so Arthur decides to find a treasure of his Grandfather, buried somewhere in their garden. Upon searching for a clue, he stumbles upon a land of the Minimoys, tiny people living underneath the ground of their land.
